FOOD GALORE!!!!
It's new year...and Im having dessert right now with my friends at La Marea!!! The best Dessert cafe in CEBU!!!
Another "must-visit" and "must-not-be-missed" whenever in Cebu is La Marea. A dessert place that is guaranteed to bring sheer joy to everyone.I was excited to visit the newest La Marea branch in this place called The Walk. The Walk
is a venue inside I.T. Park in Lahug where one can find several
restaurants as well as other shops. Here are the list of the
establishments I saw at The Walk: Mooon Cafe, Makan, East West Cafe,
Casa Verde, Mercury Drug, McDonald's, Tapa King, Shakey's, Barbecue
Joe, Figaro, Pier One Bar and Grille, Eye Pad, NewsFlash, Fabio Salsa
and a law office.
My first experience with La Marea was at their branch
in Crossroads in Banilad, Cebu. It's a quaint shop but overflowing
with sweetness. I ordered their bestseller back then and instantly
became a huge fan. There were even a couple of times when my friend
from Cebu and I literally ran to the shop (from work) so we can catch
it before closing time. And if I'm not mistaken, I took every friend
of mine to La Marea whenever they tell me that they haven't visited the place. So yeah, it's THAT good.Back to The Walk,
I was so thrilled when I learned that La Marea holds shop in this new
place in I.T. Park. I didn't waste my time so I dropped by the shop,
about to christen a friend virgin to La Marea. We got their Lavazza coffee, a tart and of course, their bestseller.
Caffe Mocha- Php85.00
Mango Tart- Php105.00
La Marea's bestseller...
Warm Brownie Cup (with extra scoop of ice cream)- Php95.00
Lavazza coffee has always been one of my favorite brands and since La Marea
is using Lavazza, their Caffe Mocha was just what I wanted. The Mango
Tart has that nice sweetness, fruitiness and flavor to it. As for
their Warm Brownie Cup, it's l-o-v-e. I just love the feel of the
velvety and moist warm brownie in my mouth mixing with the coldness of
the vanilla ice cream. The bittersweet brownie and the creamy vanilla
ice cream were more than enough for me to experience pure bliss. It
was such a joy to eat.
Believe me, no one does a mean Warm Brownie Cup but La Marea.

Maya was created to be a casual restaurant and tequila lounge; laid back and without attitude, reasonable pricing and efficient service. The sophisticated yet casual allure of the Maya seamlessly blends old world charm with modern elegance. Surrounded by the breathtaking glow of handmade blown glass and flickering candlelight, guests begin their experience. The restaurant suits a variety of moods from cozy outdoor seating and intimate indoor areas; while the sounds of mixed Latin and modern music resonate in perfect complement to the environment. Succulent aromas from the kitchen mix tradition and ingenuity while setting the stage for your dining experience.
Mexican food in the United States and here in the Philippines has largely become an Americanized combination of the on-the-go super sized burrito and the margarita digested rice and bean combo platters. What has been lost are countless ingredients and dishes, and perhaps most importantly, the rich family tradition of preparation, which is done by hand using the freshest local ingredients that are regionally available.
At the very core of the menu at Maya stands true homage to the authentic Mexican Cuisine that is actually eaten and enjoyed regionally in Mexico, albeit filtered through our whimsical lens. By embracing both Mexican tradition and local sensibility, we offer a creatively classic cuisine that marries well-known Mexican street food from the street stalls of Mexico City and family dishes from the coast of the Mayan Riviera and the inventiveness of the Hispanic community of Los Angeles; we aim to showcase the passion of utilizing the freshest of the fresh to create an original mix of rich flavor in each signature dish.
