SEARCH FOR MISTER GT 2010 (A NEW NATIONAL MALE PAGEANT IN THE PHILIPPINES!)

MANILA, Philippines - The search is on for handsome and intelligent men, 18-35 years old, who are willing to campaign for presidential candidate Gilberto Teodoro.

It's a campaign strategy initiated by Palit Galing volunteers, a small group of medical practitioners, supporting the administration bet.

The male beauty pageant, "Search for Mr. Gwapo at Talino (GT)," takes off from Teodoro's slogan "Galing at Talino". It will start holding auditions this month in 6 Metro Manila cities.

To qualify for the pageant called “Search for Mr. GT”, participants have to be both “gwapo” (handsome) and “matalino” (smart).

Contestants must also be able to explain Teodoro’s campaign platform to their neighbors during the campaign period.

“They have to embody [Teodoro’s] qualities like decency. They become the representative or embodiment of Gibo in poor areas,” said Palit Galing organizer Dr. Suzette Salazar.

Salazar, an internist formerly based in the United States, initiated the campaign in February. She professes to admire Teodoro's leadership qualities and wanted to help him win the presidential elections.
