who among you heard of the word ESPERANTO?

FOR SOME, ESPERANTO SEEMS A NEW WORD, ESPECIALLY FOR FILIPINOS. BUT ESPERANTO IS AN ARTIFICIAL LANGUAGE THAT IS WIDELY SPOKEN IN EUROPE AND SOME PARTS OF BRAZIL.

INVENTED BY SCIENTIST L.L. ZAMENHOF, ESPERANTO IS A LANGUAGE WITH ROOTS OF SPANISH, FRENCH, ITALIAN/LATIN, MAGYAR (HUNGARIAN), GREEK, RUSSIAN, GERMAN, AND HEBREW. THE LANGUAGE STARTED TO GAIN POPULARITY IN 1887.

Esperanto has had continuous usage by a community estimated at between 100,000 and 2 million speakers for over a century, and approximately one million speakers worldwide. Every Esperanto speaker is given a license and title "Esperantist". In the Philippines, there is only one licensed Esperantist... and he's here in P.O.B.
