News Update: Miss World 2010 will no longer be held in Nha Trang
Yes, you've read it right.
Nha Trang will no longer host Miss World 2010. This is no joke.
There is a disagreement on the location of the pageant.
But don't panic guys since it will still be held inside Vietnam.

As scheduled, the Miss World 2010 pageant will be held on November 6, 2010 in Nha Trang, Vietnam. However, General Director of the US based RAAS group Mr. Hoang Kieu, the organizer of the Miss World 2010 Contest in Vietnam, recently informed Khanh Hoa province that the Pageant will be moved to Tien Giang province. Hoang Kieu’s dispatch to Khanh Hoa authorities stated that RAAS would ask the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to hold the Miss World 2010 in Tien Giang other than Khanh Hoa.

yes, it's confirmed and there were contract signings already between two parties.
In another development, the main sponsor for Miss World 2010 in Vietnam - the RAAS group - had announced they are withdrawing. This is a blow on Miss World.
After reading the news I have posted in the first message, I came to realize that what could have been the reason why RAAS withdrew was because of the conflict on the venue.
Now, it looks like the title of my thread will become true....
Looks like Miss World 2010 will not be hosted in Vietnam anymore

I will answer my own post.Yes, the reason why the main sponsor withdrew was because of the conflict on where to hold the pageant.

Why RAAS withdraws from the Miss World pageant?
Another news from http://english.vietnamnet.vn/reports/201002/Why-RAAS-withdraws-from-the-Miss-World-pageant-892816/
After the success of Miss Universe 2008, Vietnam became the planned destination for the world biggest beauty pageant, Miss World 2010. However, so far plans have not gone smoothly.
On July 9 2008, the Miss World Organization’s Chairwoman Julia Morley and the of the US-based RAAS Group, Hoang Kieu, signed a memorandum of understand for the organization of Miss World 2010 in Nha Trang city, Khanh Hoa province at the witness of Khanh Hoa’s officials. Hoang Kieu also affirmed to pay around $10 million for the rights to hold this event in Nha Trang.
But in late October 2009, Hoang Kieu sent a dispatch to Khanh Hoa authorities, announcing a change of the destination for the pageant. Previously, RAAS planned to build a tourist site of over 1,500 hectares for Miss World 2010, including 2,000 bungalows,
195 houses for contestants, a pool, a golf course, a shopping mall, a resort and a spa.
Then, on January 28 2010, RAAS suddenly withdrew, blaming the move on a lack of co-operation.
Le Xuan Than, vice chairman of the People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa province, talked about the case.
How did Khanh Hoa know about RAAS’ withdrawal from the Miss World 2010 pageant? Will Khanh Hoa still host the event?
We have just received a fax from the RAAS group yesterday (January 28), which announced its withdrawal from the Miss World 2010 pageant. The document also said that Tien Giang province would not organize this event. Khanh Hoa authorities have not discussed this yet.
Khanh Hoa confirmed that the province would hold this pageant despite RAAS wanting to move the event to Tien Giang province. What are your thoughts on this?
Khanh Hoa is still implementing deputy PM Nguyen Thien Nhan’s instruction about the place and time for the Miss World pageant. On September 30 2009 the Government Office issued a dispatch allowing Khanh Hoa to host the pageant under the sponsorship of the RAAS Group. The RAAS announcement regarding changing the location was a unilateral decision.
But RAAS’ withdrawal means there is no financial sponsorship for the event. Will Khanh Hoa take care of the expenses for the competition?
The Khanh Hoa People’s Committee has not met to make a final decision. Perhaps next week it will be clear.
How about the purchase of copyright of Miss World pageant from the Miss World Organisation?
As I’ve said. We will have to discuss about this in the upcoming meeting.
After a long time preparing facilities for the Miss World 2010 pageant on Thoi Son Islet, My Tho city, Tien Giang province, RAAS Group’s chairman Hoang Kieu officially stated to stand back from this event.
Explaining about this unexpected decision, he said he didn’t want to affect the relationships between Khanh Hoa and Tien Giang. The government will decide the location for this event. If Khanh Hoa gets the right to host it, he would not join.
On January 28, RAAS sent a document to Deputy PM Nguyen Thien Nhan, the Government Office, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and related agencies, in which it is willing to “give up the right to organize the Miss World 2010 to Khanh Hoa Province”.
In a phone call with representatives of the Miss World Organisation on January 27, RAAS also agreed to let’ Khanh Hoa host this event and asked Khanh Hoa to confirm $10 million for the pageant before February 12. RAAS also withdrew its petition to hold the pageant in Tien Giang province.
Hoang Kieu said that in case Khanh Hoa province doesn’t organize the pageant, RAAS commits to bring the Miss World 2010 to Vietnam to do charity despite the place where the pageant is held.
